We are always looking for helping hands and eager volunteers.  Volunteers are an essential part of our Activity program.  MESH Volunteers lead Activities, assist wheelchair bound residents with transportation to and from activities, call bingo, help with miscellaneous crafts, read mail to residents and provide companionship.

Before becoming a MESH Volunteer:
To Volunteer at The Masonic and Eastern Star Home you need to complete the following through the Masonic and Eastern Star Home’s Activity Department:

1.)  Do you meet the following requirements:
Age:
Volunteers at the Masonic and Eastern Star Home must be at least 13 years old. The age requirement helps ensure understanding of the MESH’s Emergency Procedures and HIPPA Guidelines.
Health:
Each Volunteer must have a TB test with a negative result before beginning to volunteer time.  We also ask anyone with an active communtial disease refrain from volunteering.
Volunteer Hours:
For anyone under the age of 16 years old, volunteering at MESH will take place on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. Due to the volunteers age, we have limited the volunteering days to two days a week to ensure adequate supervision of our young volunteers. Volunteers at MESH are to be supervised by The Director of Activities, and the Activity Department Staff.

  • Schedule a TB test through activities

  • Come back 2 days later to have tb area checked

  • Take a drug test – see human resources for papers

  • Criminal background check will be done

  • Go through a mini orientation to the facility
