Brief History Welcome to the
Masonic and Eastern Star Home, affectionately known as MESH. Our
Home was conceived in 1910, established in 1912, and opened on
November 15, 1913, with the admission of our first three residents.
We are nearing a century of service and have a proud heritage. As an
employee, you are part of a promising future.
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, Mason, author and scholar, once said, “He
is the happiest, be he king or peasant, who finds peace in his home”.
Our employees help promote this concept by remembering that we work
in the residents’ Home. They do not live in our institution.
A Board of Directors comprised of twenty members governs the Home.
Their mission, and ours, is to provide a nurturing home where order,
truth, love, happiness, and security are evident. Responsibility,
choice, and independence are most important issues in any home. Of
course, there is a need for order in any home, regardless of its
size.
The Masonic and Eastern Star Home is a licensed Continuing Care
Retirement Community with different levels of care: Independent
Cottages, Assisted Living, and a Care and Wellness Center for
intermediate and skilled nursing care. As an employee, there are
times when you will associate with our residents in these different
areas of the Home.
